President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing
The President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing, created by President Obama on December 14, 2014, released its final report on May 18, 2015. The report covers recommendations in a number of areas including community policing, police legitimacy, technology, training, and officers safety.
The report, which includes a mention of the Division of Policing and the Ad Hoc Committee to work with the President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing (see p. 19 and p. 78) can be viewed HERE.
A number of Division of Policing members and affiliates provided written and/or oral testimony to the Task Force during its listening sessions held in January and February.
